Spice, a dancehall queen and star of the TV show “Love & Hip Hop,” says she is pregnant

Spice, a dancehall singer, shared the news that she is pregnant this week in a big Instagram post.

“God has been so good to me,” the Jamaican-born singer and former “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star wrote in her post on Tuesday. It was accompanied by a royal portrait of her with towering blue hair and a flowing blue gown that showed off her baby bump. She was pushing an old stroller that was full of blue flowers.

Spice, whose real name is Grace Hamilton and who is often called the “Queen of Dancehall,” also confirmed that Khaotic, who was on the TV show “Hip Hop,” is the father of her soon-to-be-born child.
Khaotic was on a recent episode of the pop-culture podcast “The Baller Alert Show,” where the hosts questioned his claims to be the father of Spice’s child, according to a video posted on Spice’s Instagram.

During the episode, he called Spice, who yelled into the phone, “That’s my baby daddy, that’s mine!” to the hosts.

Spice first got known in the 2000s when he was on Vybz Kartel’s song “Romping Shop,” which used a sample of Ne-song Yo’s “Miss Independent.” The song was on the R&B/hip-hop Billboard Hot 100 list for 15 weeks.
Her mixtape “Captured” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s reggae albums chart in 2018, and her first studio album, “10,” was nominated for a Grammy for best reggae album in 2022.

Spice joined the main cast of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” for its eighth season in 2019. She had been a guest star in a previous season. Last fall, when Spice stopped posting on social media, fans started saying that she was in a coma because of problems with her plastic surgery. Some people even said she was dead.

Spice responded to the rumors in November with an Instagram post in which she said she was in the hospital because of a broken hernia. She wrote that her body went into sepsis, which is when an infection in the blood threatens organs and could be fatal if not treated. This meant that she needed surgery right away.

“As you know, I’ve been off social media for a while to give my mind a break. Little did I know that during my medical scare, people were already saying I had a heart attack and was in a coma, but none of that is true,” Spice wrote. “However, I’m still getting over what really happened, so I really appreciate all the prayers and care.”
