Waka Flocka Flame talks about why he is thankful to God that he got shot

Shannon Sharpe, who has won three Super Bowls, asked Hip Hop artist Waka Flocka Flame to join him on his podcast, Club Shay Shay. At one point, Waka thought about a bad time in his past.

In January 2010, news came out that Waka Flocka Flame, whose real name is Juaquin Malphurs, had been shot in the arm. The rapper, who was 23 at the time, was cleaning his car at a car wash in his hometown when he was shot and robbed.

Shannon Sharpe asked Waka Flocka Flame about that scary thing that happened twelve years ago. The “Hard in the Paint” rapper’s answer was mostly about how getting hurt on that day in 2010 changed the way his life went from then on.

“I still take my car to the wash. “Yeah, I know exactly what happened, without a doubt,” Waka Flocka Flame said. “I’m also thankful to God for that. That was a good thing, because I was making something like $250,000 that weekend.”

The businessman, who is now 36 years old, also said, “I was going to buy some bricks and pounds. And God is the one who stopped me. I thank God that I was so full of myself. It turned me completely dark… Waka also died on that day.”

In October 2010, Waka Flocka Flame released the album Flockaveli. The BET Hip Hop Awards Rookie of the Year nominee released Triple F Life: Fans, Friends, and Family two years later. Both of these albums reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200.

Gucci Mane, who is also a member of the 1017 Brick Squad, worked with Waka Flocka Flame on the 2011 project Ferrari Boyz. As a solo artist, Waka had hits like “O Let’s Do It” and “No Hands” with Roscoe Dash and Wale on the Billboard Hot 100.

Waka was also on the reality show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta on the VH1 network. He has also been a star on Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition and Waka & Tammy, which he did with his longtime girlfriend Tammy Rivera.
